There were 641,000 handsets, mostly smartphones, sold in the Taiwan market in May, decreasing 1.3% on month, according to Taiwan-based Central News Agency (CNA).

Samsung Electronics recorded the largest market share of 25.1% in sales volume, followed by Apple 16.4%, HTC 16.2%, Asustek Computer 15.3% and Sony Mobile Communications 7.2%, CNA said.

Apple occupied 41.6% of total sales value, followed by Samsung 22.7%, HTC 12.3%, Sony Mobile 9.4% and Asustek 5.6%.

Samsung J7 was the best selling model in terms of volume, followed by 64GB iPhone 6s, 64GB iPhone 6s Plus, Samsung J5, HTC Desire 728, Asustek ZenFone 2 Laser ZE500KL, 32GB Sony Z5, Samsung Note 5, and Oppo F1.
